The VCU Broad Street Mile combines a street festival with a 5K Run and series of one-mile fun runs on the city’s major thoroughfare, Broad Street. In addition to providing a fun, festive event, the VCU Broad Street Mile provides a turnkey fundraising opportunity for local community organizations. We are excited to introduce the VCU 5K which is a new addition for 2014!
Broad Street will be transformed into two areas, a running course and festival. The running course will feature the VCU 5K to kick-off the event, and five themed one-mile races that start at 20 minute intervals. The FREE festival will feature live music, food trucks, local vendors, kids activities and a new RVA Sports Zone featuring the Richmond Flying Squirrels and other local professional sports teams. People are encouraged to come enjoy the festival even if you are not participating in one of the run/walks.

Richmond 2015, the organizers of the UCI Road World Cycling Championships, will provide their bike valet service at the VCU Broad Street Mile Festival. Richmond 2015 is excited to provide this FREE valet service to anyone who rides to the event.
The way the valet works is, a cyclist rides up on his/her bike and they receive a valet ticket with a number on the top and bottom portion. The cyclist keeps the top portion while the bottom portion is affixed to the bicycle. The bike valet attendant then takes the bicycle and puts it inside the bike corral until the owner returns with the top portion of the ticket to claim their bike. It is very simple and again, it’s all FREE!
The bike valet will be located at the corner of Broad and N. Hancock Streets.
